Final Thoughts on Godzilla (1998) Those who've known me for long enough probably remember the intense love/hate relationship that I had with TriStar's version of Godzilla. Released in 1998 under the title Godzilla, the film got a lot of mixed, but mostly negative feedback. Several hardcore fans damned the film as being a rip-off of Jurassic Park (1993) and The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953). NEW MONSTER STORY IN PROGRESS!

For my last story in Fiction Workshop, I gave in to temptation and began a monster story and it's coming along great! My new writting classes have allowed me to form my stories as they create themselves rather than planning the entire thing out from start to finish. Needless to say, it's much easier and is giving me far better results! I think I needed this time away from deviantART in order to take as much as I could from these classes and it's given me unprecidented leverage. Still, like before, it's going to take time and much drafting. But my new angle of critical thinking is giving me entirely different revenues that I can take to write

My New Calling

Through the course of my classes, I've realized what I really want to focus on: writting. I already have a few short stories to do for my fiction workshop and I have a novel currently in development. For strict security purposes, though, I am revealing no further details this time around. As opposed to the original sloppier methods I engaged in before, I am going to be taking a lot of time on my new stories. In fact, they may take several months to complete. And some of my more thourough ones may even take a year or so. So you guys are probably not going to be hearing from me as much as before. But I'll still be checking in when I can. -DS1

Done With the Updates

Well, I'll probably lose a few fans for this, but I just don't have the same kind of time for the updates anymore. I'm still quite busy with work and school. Not to mention that some of my classes have got me thinking about my own original work. Seeing as how I'm now an English major (with a writing concentration), we tend to talk about some pretty heavy stuff and I realize now that I want to be recognized for my own work. And frankly, as much as I love Godzilla, it's getting really... really... REALLY annoying to find that almost nobody's saying anything about my original work. And it doesn't even feel fun anymore.
